the collective goes to Asian Fashion Week! (sponsored by Royal Brunei Airlines)
We are going to Asian Fashion Week!
Earlier on in the year we met our festival vendor Maricel Pamintuan, and were instantly smitten with her functional designs that have a unique edge to them. Think items such as Japanese cotton blazers in pastel shades like baby pink, with strong shoulders, and an almost rock glam embellishment of faux diamonds.
The Maricel Pamintuan brand is about making the feminine strong and powerful, with the mission of inspiring women to view feminine designs in this light.
Her experience working at design house and celebrity red carpet favourite Marchesa is reflected in the expertise at which she creates her garments. Said pink blazer, which was picked up at our third festival was complimented non stop at a recent outing, and if there's one thing every fashionista likes hearing, it's "Where did you get that? I love it!".
We were extremely fortunate to have the support of Royal Brunei Airlines for this project, where we worked with Maricel to help her get ready for the debut of her Spring/Summer '15 collection at Asian Fashion Week on the runway. This collection is one to watch! Trust us, we've seen the previews - and we want the entire collection in our wardrobes. Right. Now.
We fly off direct from Bandar Seri Begawan to Surabaya, Indonesia for all the action in two days, and are seriously grateful for the direct flights that Royal Brunei Air has, because it's saving us a bucketload of time instead of transiting for hours and hours!
Keep an eye here as we write up about Asian Fashion Week and bring you backstage with us via Instagram (@thecollectiveartevents)!
